Top 10 Female Rappers Out Right Now

ftwvibe

Lately women in Hip Hop have been acting up on social media. I personally am not a fan of it. It feeds into the negative black women narrative but that won't stop these women from going word for word on Twitter. Since this topic is hot and I have a lot of opinions surrounding it. I will be listing my pick for the top 10 female rappers out now. Yes, they are in order.

#10 Latto

#9 Cardi B

#8 Kash Doll

#7 Flo Milli

#6 Doja Cat

#5 Megan The Stallion

#4 Kodie Shane

#3 Rico Nasty

#2 City Girls

#1 Nicki Minaj

#10 Kodie Shane (Favorite Songs: Drip on My Walk, Love & Drugs II, Learning)

Kodie Shane is on the top of my list, but at the bottom here because her reach isn't as large as the others listed. She is a niche rapper and have to have a certain swag to relate to a lot of her music. She has been linked being the female Lil Uzi Vert. She was Lil Yacht's prodigy for a bit. Now she is standing tall on her own. I got hip to her via her blogs on YouTube during tour. She has an unmatched swag and a really chill persona to her. All good vibes around her. Her music is centered around some strong feelings. Not only about love, but also about mental health and substance abuse. She has the type of music you want to bump on a night car ride or pre gaming for a well-needed turn up. If you aren't hip yet, check out my favorite album by her: 'Young Heartthrob'

#9 Kash Doll (For Everybody, Ice Me Out)

Kash Doll has always been relevant. I believe it also takes a certain type of person to listen to her. Her reach isn't as far as the others listed in front of her, but the reach that she does have is powerful and that's why she makes my list. Ive heard fans say that she reminds them of a bestie or family member. Kash Doll got caught up in a bad deal back in the day and to be honest its probably the only reason she doesn't have global fame. Her music isn't heavy on lyrics or flashiness. Her story telling and swag is probably her anchor. Ice me out is a whole anthem and lets not forgot the legendary song "For Everybody" which everybody knows word from word. Honestly if you aren't hip to Kash Doll, you are kind of lame. Im just being honest. She is a hidden gem.

#8 Flo Milli (N/A)

Here is another rapper I personally believe should be higher rank but her reach isn't as far as the others. Flo Milli is unique! You can notice her voice anywhere. She also gives me massive feminine energy. She's young and has plenty of time and space to grow, so she may be number 1 one of these days. She's lyrically gifted with very creative puns. Her flow is her own, it reminds me of nursery rhyme type of flow. You can follow it easily and recite back. This helps with fans. She is unproblematic and I love that for her. Excited to see what she brings to the table in the upcoming years. Im not sure if she has grasped die hard fans yet. She has a lot of potential in her corner.

#7 Latto (N/A)

Lets all bffr, Latto is overrated. Other than the "Big Energy" song, which I barely know, she has no hits. Yet somehow she has so much clout behind her and it damn sure isn't because of that show she was on with Jermaine Dupri when she was a kid. I'm not hating on the kid, but I don't think she should be getting these accolades she is getting. It really shows a bad look to the state of Hip Hop. We have some really dope talent that really is deserving to be at that level and they don't stand a chance because we are giving it to her. Talent and popularity are two different things. She is however on the list because of her popularity. She goes viral, just like Coi Leray whom I thought to add on this list as well.

#6 Rico Nasty (Poppin, Smack A Bitch, Key Lime OG, Trust Issues)

Rico Nasty is one of my favorite female rappers out and I know a lot of others can say the same. Rico is unmatched. Her energy, her flow, her style, her content. None of it has really been done. On top of that, she can keep up lyrically with all of the other rap girlies. I feel special being a fan of Rico Nasty because I feel you have to have more of a complex mind to get it. "The girls that get it, get it and the girls that don't, don't." Its that simple. She does not have full albums I like BUT her single releases are fye. No one can compare to Rico and that's her magic. She may have single handedly created her own genre.

#5 Megan Thee Stallion (Big Ole Freak)

I honestly am not that big of.Megan. I do feel she has potential of talent. I think she had most of her talent in the beginning and the fame kind of watered it down. With that being said, she has room to return to it. We know its in here. For now though, we are stuck with listening to shake that ass, pop that pussy, and all that other jazz. People love her though. She is absolutely stunning though and I love the brand that she has created for herself. She is also a somewhat positive role model. No, not for kids, but for women in general and more specifically black women. She somehow does stay in the news for some beef with men in the industry. Those feuds and allegations are up for debate. Regardless she has made her mark and I am hoping for better quality music in the future.

#4 Cardi B (N/A)

Im not a huge fan of Cardi B either. But I do admire her artistry. I personally think she's a dope person. An artist doesn't mean you have to be spitting hard bars and crazy flow all the time. With Cardi B, she has an image that people love. She's funny, authentic, true to her roots. People can relate to her and she seems unapologetic in what she puts out. Her music is okay for commercial use. Music doesn't have to always be super serious and she makes music that reminds me of it. I can't deny that I bop my head a little when I hear a Cardi B song. Unlike some on this list, I can sit here and name a few of her songs off bat and that enough shows me she deserves to be on this list and in this spot. I also want to give props to her because Im not sure if english is even her first language and she is out here doing it!

#3 City Girls (Act Up)

City Girls is ranking may be surprising to some, but I believe they deserve this spot. Instead of just being "rappers" they are overall great artists. Everysong they put out or feature on is a hit. They also have amazing personalities and stand on their own. JT and Caresha show true sisterhood (so far) which is really needed to be showcased to young women now a days. You literally cannot deny a City Girl song when it comes on. You automatically want to rap to it, or dance to it. That is enough to land the number three spot on my list.

#2 Doja Cat (Suck My Dick, So High, Rules)

I got hip to Doja Cat a very long time ago via SoundCloud. What drew me to her was more of her production abilities. She made her own beats and recorded on her own. The first two tracks I heard of her were "Suck My Dick" and "So High". Both tracks were ahead of its time. When I saw her blowing up years later, I wasn't surprised. Her fame was in no way overnight and she truly is self made. That doesn't take away from her natural talent, we all know she writes her own music and it slaps everytime. She single handledly took over summer of 2020 with Tik Tok. Somehow she cracked the code with that because usually people only like the hooks from Tik Tok songs, but all of her songs are catchy start to finish of listening. Her content is also different. She doesn't always talk about her pussy or fighting another female rapper. Its diverse and she's uniquely and confidently herself. You simply can't hate on Doja, she stays in her own lane and runs it well.

#1 Nicki Minaj (Moment 4 Life, Itty Bitty Piggy, Monster Feature)

Nicki Minaj is undoubtedly the best female rapper alive or dead to be honest. She is truly iconic and it is extremely delusional not to hear it or see it. I think she should be within the top rappers overall, not just the female category. She has the entire package as an artists. She makes good songs, has creative rhymes and delivery, she's unique, she is inspirational. She does it all. This paragraph may not be that long because this rank should not need to be explained. Pink Friday is a not miss album. One day I hope she gets her flowers and feels it. I am not a barb, nor did the barbs make me write this. It's just simply facts!
