I have seen this song on every social media at least 10x a day. I have heard some dope remixes of it, so I think its best to dissect this song and see why its popping so hard right now. To start, there is a music video to the song which already sets this song apart from most unsigned artists. Once clicking on the video, I realize that THE honorable CNOTE produced the song. So we have to note that's a good 40% of the reason this song is blowing up. Not only does he make fire beats, he has a lot of clout behind his name and a lot of reach. He is also shown in the video, so you know he's really behind her as an artists. Im not sure if the style in this video is her brand, but she has a 90s look to her in this video and it works because I can say that's one of the top, if not the top reasons I was drawn to the song/video. She looks like one of the girls in players club, I forgot her name, but y'all know who Im talking about. So with the swag in the video and honorable CNOTE as the producer, she's off to a hot start. Her lyrics are pretty basic, but her cadence is something to note. It reminds me automatically of UGK and down south flow which I love. It's slow and staccato like, yet holds so much swag. The adlibs and hook are on point and high pitched as well, bringing in a contrast to her verses. This all works beautifully. Lastly the camera work is decent, pretty basic but it works. The icing on the cake is seeing black people just having fun together. A lot of times, people have such robotic people around them. Either dudes throwing money or flexing cars, money, guns. Or women being half naked just standing there or shaking ass. This video gives me kickback, family reunion type vibes. I hope artists pay attention to viral content like this and learn they should be free with their music and enjoy the process. You all spend so much money on creating, why not create something fun for you and the consumer.
